Accessibility at Jeff's Outdoor

Welcome to Everyone!

At Jeff's Outdoor, we love creating great spaces-and that includes making our own business welcoming to everyone! Whether you're an employee, a client, or a guest stopping by, we are committed to treating you with dignity, respect, and independence.

This policy lays out how we make our services, workplace, and site accessible in everyday plain language, strictly following the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (A.O.D.A.).

Quick Terms (Simplified)

A.O.D.A.: The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005-the standard for making Ontario accessible to everyone.

Assistive Device: Any tool or tech you use to get around or communicate. Think wheelchairs, walkers, canes, oxygen tanks, communication boards, or screen readers.

Disability: Includes any physical, sensory, mental, learning, or developmental condition, as well as temporary injuries or conditions covered under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.

Guide Dogs & Service Animals: Highly trained furry helpers who assist with mobility, vision, medical alerts, or other needs.

Support Person: Anyone you bring along to help you out with communication, mobility, or personal care.

Visiting Our Location

Address: We're located at 1500 Stoney Creek Rd. Caledonia ON.

Getting Here: Heads up! We are not on a public bus route, so you'll need personal wheels or direct transit to reach us.

Parking: We have designated accessible parking spots right near the entrance.

Restrooms: Full honesty check: Our restrooms are currently accessible but do not have braces or supports for those that need them.(this is on our list) We want you to know ahead of time so you can plan your visit comfortably!

How We Communicate

We know everyone processes information differently, so we adapt to what works best for you:

By Phone: Our team speaks clearly, plainly, and at an easy pace.

By Email or Text/Print: If phone calls aren't your thing (or aren't accessible for you), we're more than happy to switch to email or written notes. Just let us know your preference!

Gear, Pets, and Pals

Assistive Devices: Bring whatever tools help you navigate your day! All we ask is that devices are operated safely while on site.

Joining our team? If you work at Jeff's Outdoor and need an assistive device on the job, we'll work with you to make sure you have the accommodations you need.

Service Animals & Guide Dogs: Your four-legged team members are always welcome on Jeff's Outdoor premises!

The Basics: Please keep your service animal harnessed or wearing their working vest/ID card, and ensure they are well-managed.

Allergies: If a staff member or guest has a severe allergy to animals, don't worry- we won't turn anyone away. We'll find a balanced arrangement so everyone stays safe and comfortable.

Support Persons: You are always welcome to bring your support person along. If we need to discuss confidential details (like invoices or personal information), we'll just ask for your quick okay before diving in while they are in the room.

Bumps in the Road (Temporary Disruptions)

If something on site is out of order or undergoing maintenance (like driveway work or facility updates), we won't leave you guessing.

We will post a notice at our main entrances with:
1. What's out of service
2. Why it's down
3. How long we expect it to take
4. Alternative options (if available)

Billing Made Simple

No confusing bills or hard-to-read invoices. You can request your bills and pay notifications in your preferred style:
Digital format (sent right to your inbox)
Hard copy (printed paper)

Have questions about an invoice? Our Admin Team is always happy to walk through it in person, over the phone, by email, or by post.

Our Team Training

We make sure all Jeff's Outdoor staff know how to deliver top-tier, accessible customer service. Training happens during orientation and continues on a regular basis at Tailgate talks and Seasonal Rollout days.

What our team learns:
• How A.O.D.A. works and why it matters.
• How to communicate comfortably with people with different types of disabilities.
• How to interact with folks using assistive devices, service animals, or support persons.

What to do if someone is having trouble accessing our services

Tell us how we're doing! We love feedback-it's how we keep improving our service for everyone.

How to reach out

In person, by phone, in writing, or electronically.
• Who receives it: Our fantastic Admin Team.
• Response time: You will hear back from us within 5 business days.
